Amador Estates and Jensen
Amador Estates and Jensen, two of the original neighborhoods in the Pleasanton area, have old style and quaint characteristics that attracts homebuyers to this area first developed in the 1950s and 60s. Homeowners have refurbished and updated many of the residences over the years in order to keep up with the times. Amador Estates and Jensen serve as the gateway to downtown Pleasanton on Santa Rita Road.
The location of these two neighborhoods, which are close to the high school and elementary school in the area, attracts many home buyers to this area. Homeowners also have easy access to downtown Pleasanton, which hosts a plethora of boutiques and dining options.
Sizes of homes in these neighborhoods range anywhere from 1100 to about 1700 square feet on 6000- to 7000-square foot lots. Designed for families who want to live in a quiet and quaint neighborhood, Amador Estates and Jensen enjoy tree-lined streets that make the neighborhoods feel homier. Alisal Elementary School
Alisal Elementary School educates 650 students annually in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school opened in October 1956 and uses a curriculum focusing on reading, language arts, math, social studies and science. Instructors at the school use six strategies to teach students: making connections, questioning, visualizing, inferring, determining importance and synthesizing. Alisal Elementary School also has GATE, or Gifted and Talented Education, for students who perform exceptionally. Alisal Elementary School works in partnership with the PPIE, Tri-Valley Business Council, PSEE, City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council.
Harvest Park Middle School
Harvest Park Middle School educates students from sixth to eighth grades. The school follows the Code of Academic Conduct, which states students, staff and the whole community will work together in order to achieve academic integrity. Apart from learning the core curriculum, students at Harvest Park Middle School can also join clubs and organizations to enhance their social well-being and let them engage with other students who share the same interests. These clubs include ecology, robotics, math, fish club, Science Olympiad, Ultimate Frisbee and more. Harvest Park Middle School has received much recognition, including National School of Character in 2005, National Blue Ribbon School in 2002 and California Distinguished School in 1994 and 2001.
Amador Valley High School
Amador Valley High School has about 2600 enrollees each school year and is one of two high schools in Pleasanton Unified School District. Amador Valley High offers co-curricular programs, academic programs and athletics, and the school’s other awards include National Blue Ribbon School, National School of Character, National Avid Demonstration School, California Distinguished School, California SPARC Award and the California Golden Bell Award. Special programs Amador Valley High School offers include Amnesty International, AVID, Drama, Leadership, Laptop and Creek Watch.
