Fairlands Elementary School
Fairlands Elementary School caters to students from kindergarten to fifth grade. The school offers academic programs that follow California state curriculum as well as district standards in subjects like Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics. They also offer visual and performing arts programs and Physical Education. Fairlands Elementary School tests the progress of their students through STAR testing program and reading level tests, writing portfolios, researches, and writing samples conducted in the classrooms. One of the priorities in Fairlands is character formation. The school uses TRIBES program that reinforces respect for oneself and for others, as well as attentive listening.
Thomas S. Hart Middle School
Hart Middle School opened in August 2000 and caters to students in the middle school. The state-of-the-art facilities of the school include lab stations, computer stations with Internet access, a sports fields and a 17,000 sq. ft. gymnasium. Apart from academics, the middle school also has clubs that hone other areas of the students’ interests. These clubs include the debate club, golf team, cheerleading, wrestling, eco club and destination imagination among others. Hart Middle School aims to improve student achievement by measuring their abilities through state-mandated testing.
Foothill High School
Foothill High School, a National Blue Ribbon school, aims to nurture the emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of their students. Aside from academic classes, students have the opportunity to join clubs and engage in different school activities. Clubs at Foothill High School include athletics, drama, choir, Latin, Math team, peer tutoring, football, and many more. Graduating students can seek help from the school’s career center where they can check college pamphlets, request career information and provide their resumes for part-time jobs or internships. Foothill High School was named California Distinguished School in 1994, 2001 and 2005. Apart from these awards, the school was honored for academic superiority with the National Blue Ribbon in 2006.
