Lydiksen Elementary School, built in 1968, educates students in kindergarten through eighth grade and serves about 300 students annually. Lydiksen Elementary School bases its curriculum on Pleasanton Unified School District and California standards. Aside from the academic programs, students can also engage in co-curricular activities such as the Green Team, Spanish, science, Boy and Girl Scouts and GATE (Gifted and Talented Education). Locals attribute the success of the elementary school to the collaboration of parents and teachers to provide a good learning environment for the children. Lydiksen Elementary School has about 50 parents who volunteer for on-campus activities.
Hart Middle School
Hart Middle School received recognition as a California Distinguished School in 2003. Hart Middle School sits conveniently in Hacienda Business Park, making it a safe place conducive to learning. Some of the state-of-the-art facilities at Hart Middle School include benches, picnic tables, sports fields, a track, computer labs and a 17,000-square foot gymnasium. Since its opening in 2000, Hart Middle School has added developments that include well-equipped lab stations, a library with an extensive collection of books, computer stations with Internet access and more.
Foothill High School
Foothill High School, a National Blue Ribbon Excellence School, provides quality education to students. Apart from the core curriculum, the school encourages students to join clubs and organizations that will help them improve their skills and talents as individuals. As such, more than 80% of the student body engages in extra-curricular activities. Foothill High School offers 35 clubs and 22 competitive athletic sports for students each school year. Today, Foothill High School serves about 2300 high school students annually.
