Mohr Park Estates / Charter Oaks
Mohr Park Estates, built by Shea Homes in 1990 and 1991, features luxury homes with vaulted ceilings, tiled roofs and garages that can accommodate up to three vehicles. Mohr Park’s homes range in floor size from 2500 to 3300 square feet on lots ranging from 7500 to 10,000 square feet. Some lots have backings of orchards, but only one house in the development is single story. Features of the homes include large open kitchens, luxurious master bedrooms and two or three fireplaces.
Charter Oaks, built by Standard Pacific from 1988 to 1990, has homes with floor plans ranging from 1900 to 2800 square feet on lots ranging from 6000 to 8000 square feet, with some lots reaching up to one-quarter acre in size. Homes showcase contemporary California style with huge kitchens and luxurious master bedrooms.
Mohr Park Estates and Charter Oaks lie east of Santa Rita Road, just off Mohr Avenue. These neighborhoods near the local elementary school give residents easy access to freeways, the BART station, downtown Pleasanton and community parks. Neither Mohr Park Estates nor Charter Oaks has homeowner’s associations.
School Information
Residents of these neighborhoods can send their children to the nearest elementary, middle and high schools in Pleasanton Unified School District.
Mohr Elementary School
Mohr Elementary School enjoys much recognition, including National Blue Ribbon School and California Distinguished School status and an honorable mention for Excellence from the California Department of Education. In addition to the core educational curriculum, students also engage in activities and join clubs such as the leadership club, garden club, Friends Helping Friends, science lab, Critter Club and eco science club, among others. Residents attribute the school’s success to the collaborative efforts of parents and teachers. Parent activities the school offers include PTA, parent volunteers, technology committee and the school site council.
Harvest Park Middle School
Harvest Park Middle School, an award-winning institution boasting honors such as the 2005 National School of Character, the 2002 National Blue Ribbon School, and the 1994 and 2001 California Distinguished School distinctions, employs a child-centered curriculum for students in sixth through eighth grades. Harvest Park Middle School’s curriculum follows California state and district standards. The school offers different academic and social opportunities for students, including peer mentors, career day, multicultural fair, geography bee, spelling bee and a talent show.
Amador Valley High School
Amador Valley High School has approximately 2600 students and holds several distinctions, including Blue Ribbon School, National School of Character, California Distinguished High School and the California Golden Bell Award status. The school gives importance to character development and instills core values in students such as responsibility, compassion, honesty, good manners and self-control. Special programs at the high school include drama, leadership club, AVID, Creek Watch and more. Amador Valley High School follows California state and district curriculum standards. State and national ranking criteria recognize the high school as one of the state’s premier public high schools.
