Coark Harbour Development built the Old Town neighborhood during the early 1980s, erecting homes with the characteristic charm of old Pleasanton. Old Town sits near First Street, just off Bernal Avenue.

Valley View Elementary School
Valley View Elementary School opened in 1960 and educates 700 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. One of the oldest schools that in Pleasanton Unified School District, the school has a diverse population and serves children from upper-middle class and working class families. The school offers an award-winning Spanish Dual Immersion Program to students who wish to learn a second language.
Pleasanton Middle School
Pleasanton Middle School serves residents in the East San Francisco Bay Area. Educating approximately 1100 students, the school bases its core curriculum on California state standards. Instructors aim to improve programs and challenge students with its academic programs, and it also offers extra-curricular activities.
Amador Valley High School
Amador Valley High School, an award-winning school serving 2600 students annually, boasts recognition such as National Blue Ribbon School and National School of Character status; California SPARC Award and California Golden Bell Award recipient; and California Distinguished School, National Avid Demonstration School and National School of Character status. Amador bases its core curriculum California and district standards. In addition toacademic programs, the school also offers special programs such as drama, academies, AVID, Creek Watch, leadership and more.
